The Americana Art pieces at Gallery 30 are made using historically relevant materials such as reclaimed wood and are individually hand painted and lettered. They are styled by the artists to represent different eras, including the early 20th century, the 1920’s, the 1930’s, the 1940’s and the 1950’s. At the turn of the 20th century, these works would have been considered commercial art. Today they are grounded in the practice of graphic design, a member of the larger family of visual arts which includes photography, ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking, to name a few.
For over 25 years our artists have created a unique and eclectic blend of Americana Art. Each design is visualized through the use of images and lettering, and then hand painted onto carefully aged materials, including old door panels and antique boards. The designs reflect the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions and history, including farm, garden, goods and services, as well as a myriad of food, drink and hospitality pieces. They are made in Pennsylvania and are truly one-of-a-kind.
